Women's Doubles Winner
Tian Qing and Zhao Yunlei from China won the gold medal after handing a defeat to the Japanese pair Mizuki Fujii and Reika Kakiiwa 21-10, 25-23. Zhao Yunlei also became the first-ever shuttler to win 2 gold medals in 1 olympic games. Russia's Nina Vislova and Valeria Sorokina took home the bronze medal.

Mixed Doubles Winner
The world No.1 mixed doubles pair Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei from China defeated compatriot Xu Chen and Ma Jin to clinch the gold medal. In the bronze play-off, the Danish pair of Joachim Fischer and Christinna Pedersen thwarted an all-Asian sweep of the medals as they beat Indonesia’s Tontowi Ahmad and Lilyana Natsir

Men's Doubles Winner

China's Cai Yu and Fu Haifeng captured that elusive Olympic Gold Medal after 10 years partnership in the expense of Denmark's Mathias Boe and Carsten Morgensen while Korea's Chung Jae Sung and Lee Yong Dae earned Bronze. This will be Chung's last international game.


Men Singles' Winner
China's Lin Dan became the first ever men's singles player to win 2 olympic gold medals in the event (2008 Beijing Olympic and 2012 London Olympic) after defeating Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei in 3 sets; 15-21, 21-10, 21-19 in 77 minutes. Meanwhile China's Chen Long clinched the bronze medal after beating Korea's Lee Hyun Il. The latter announced his retirement from badminton after the bronze medal match.


Women's Singles Winner

Li Xuerui from China clinched the gold medal after defeating her compatriot Wang Yihan in 78 minutes. Saina Nehwal did Indian Badminton proud by winning the bronze medal.
